Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450 g ground beef chuck (80/20)
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • Caramelized onions optional
  • Swiss cheese or blue cheese optional
  • Avocado slices optional
  • Pickled jalapeños optional
  • Lettuce and tomato optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat (375°F–400°F / 190°C–205°C).
  • Divide ground beef chuck into 4 equal portions.
  • Form patties slightly larger than the buns and make a small indentation in the center.
  • Season both sides with kosher salt and black pepper.
  • Grill for 4-5 minutes on the first side.
  • Flip and cook another 3-4 minutes until internal temperature reaches 155°F–160°F.
  • Let burgers rest for a few minutes.
  • Assemble with buns and desired toppings.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use cold ground beef chuck for the best texture.
  • Avoid overworking the meat.
  • Do not press patties while grilling.
  • Ground beef chuck with an 80/20 ratio produces the juiciest burgers.
