Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven and prepare three 6-inch cake pans.
  • Mix the cake batter and divide evenly between the pans.
  • Bake for about 34 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool the cakes completely.
  • Prepare vanilla buttercream frosting.
  • Level and stack the cake layers using buttercream between each layer.
  • Apply a crumb coat and chill for 30 minutes.
  • Cover the cake with a smooth layer of white buttercream.
  • Roll out black fondant and cut irregular cow spots.
  • Decorate with fondant ears, horns, eyes, muzzle, and pink nostrils.
  • Pipe buttercream rosettes around the top if desired.
  • Chill before serving.

  • Chill the cake after the crumb coat for a smoother finish.
